Orchestrations

I don't know about the rest of you New Yorkers, but this is one of the few times that the NYC sky has been this colorful or beautiful.

A Different Medium, A Different Canvas.

The sound of metal clanking. It gets louder, and louder.
you look up, its not the tin-man, its not C-3PO, and its DEFINITELY NOT R2D2's squeaky self.
no, its the robot from Rocky IV.

But really, at least in this instance, that sound of metal was not coming from a freaky 1980's robot that greets you happy birthday. That sound of the metal clanking was coming from this vehicle. The sound of metal clanking was somewhat mystical. This is art on wheels. Street art of a different kind. but who am I to categorize?

check out the other art cars at: http://www.artcaragency.com/
lets see danny zuko get automatic, systematic, and hydromatic next to this badass vehicle.

Fall has arrived

Since my last post (before my previous post) it was barely fall. Now, the leaves have started to change colors. Fort Tryon Park in the fall and winter is one of the hidden treasures of Manhattan. It is the part of the city where the only bright light comes from the sun and where there is no traffic.

Where else in the city will you find a place where trees are higher than buildings (nowhere because these trees are on the
highest natural point of manhattan...true story)

Medieval DRAMA

these things are so staged- the 30 minutes of talking and "insulting" that is, not the 2 seconds of jousting.
IF that is how jousting really used to be, then what is the meaning of life?

AN Apology:

To the person (if any) viewing my blog,

I have been very busy. School work takes up a lot of time, and I have not been able to carry my camera around with me because I can only carry so much with my school books. I hope you are enjoying the pictures.

Bird and a Plane

No Superman

An Abstract Expression of New York City

When I'm waiting for the train, I often look at the ads on the walls and pick away at how lame they are, how bad of a photoshop job was done (thinking that it was done by someone who just learned the program and doesn't know what it means to "feather" a selection), or rarely how good and effective the ad I am looking at is. Some train stations have the ad boxes, but no ads in them and directly reminds me of something created by an Abstract Expressionist artist. This one specifically, at 79th street on the 1 train (uptown platform) reminds me of Robert Rauschenberg's "Canyon"... minus the bald eagle with the oil paint. (yeah i know, he's really more of a Neo-Dada artist)

It just intrigues me how "Grafitti" is considered a nuisance (crappy grafitti i think- nuisance, banksy- brilliant)
and the content of the photo above isn't considered Grafitti..its not considered art by most either.
To me, its absolutely refreshing to see this. Look at those colors! The "canvas" is busy, but not an eyesore. Theres no photoshop to judge, no composition to laugh at because someone got paid and did so-so job,
and no intent to sell a sham-wow or the next kid's bop installment.

Look out for these.
Tell me what you think.
